What do you do when you're tired?

I'm usually really good about getting up extra early to work out in the mornings (I have 3 kids, so it's a bit tough to fit it in). But this morning, I'm exhausted. I could go back to bed and sleep for hours. I tried to work out, but I'm just way too tired. I have absolutely no energy. What do you do when you're tired and have no energy? Do you give your body a break? Do you workout later in the day? I'm the kind of person who needs a specific schedule (hence the 4:30 am workout every day), and if I don't do what I'm supposed to do, I feel really guilty.

If its me then I would have a breakfast of energy food, ie porridge with a protein shake. then workout later in the day.

Don't feel like you've let yourself down if you miss out on a work out 1-2 days a week. It's healthy to give your body a rest. Maybe even find a way to get your kiddies involved in an exercise? Like running at a park or the backyard?0

If my body wants to sleep, then I sleep (when I can). Your body needs the sleep. We generally need to obey what our bodies tell us. Try to arrange your schedule so you get enough sleep. You can also go to bed earlier in the evening.0

4.30am workout and 3kids girl give yourself a break!! Your body won't hate you for it and don't beat your self up bout it. You will be no good to anybody if your to tired!0

I would try eating first then doing your workout 45min later if your sched makes that hard do a good whey protien powder in shake form with a banana and drink that first thing. That will get you going. If you are still struggling with energy levels look at your foods that may be a cause. Weather may be a cause. Less sun and cold energy can zap our levels. I know it has affected me these past few weeks. Feeling Like I could go back to bed and stay there. It makes it harder for you with the small children. If your a coffee drinker have a cup to get you going. Hope this helps.0

For me, when I get that overwhelming tiredness, I realize that it is sometime near my TOM and I take the time to rest my body. If it's an occasional thing, then give yourself a break. Sometimes our body is smarter than our minds. With 3 kids, my guess is you are going to be moving around a lot today. Without the exercise, make today a day to really load up on water-enriched fruits and vegetables and drink LOTS of water. Sometimes exhaustion is something as simple as dehydration. And that will help with the calorie portion too. Get some rest. The world will still be turning tomorrow0

I'd give my body a break! and as suggested by another poster if you can squeeze in the workout later in the day then do, if not then no biggie as long as you're still hitting your weekly targets.
I started interval training on my bike. One morning I got up for my workout and I was so tired I was literally still half asleep when I climbed on my bike and strapped on my helmet. By the end of my workout I was so weak that I almost fainted. I think my heart rate went completely berserk (which is why I'm getting a heart rate monitor ASAP), It was super scary and I should have just listened to my body and let it rest. What was even scarier is that I was out in traffic and still blocks away from home. I literally worked out till I was sick. Like how stupid is that?
so.... its great to push yourself and build healthy routines be sure you listen to your body0
