Good cardiovascular fitness = less calorie burning?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I really wasn't sure about the search term to punch in to get an answer. Over the last few months I've gotten in better cardiovascular shape -- as a result, do you burn less calories per workout because of this? I still enjoy everything that I do (a lot of Les Mills classes) but I'm not getting my butt kicked the same way I was before.
