What are your lame excuses for overeating or not exercising?

Boy I can be pathetic sometimes with my excuses! Here are a few

I feel a cold coming on so I shouldn't over exert
I don't want to hurt my friend's feelings by not eating more pie
I've had a tough day, so I deserve another glass of wine
A lot of people are much bigger than me, so maybe I'm not so fat afterall
I'm sure it doesn't bother my husband that much that I've gained 25 pounds
It's actually less healthy to be too thin than a little overweight
I can go over my calories today because I'll really cut back tomorrow
It's a special occassion!

Isn't it funny how I think I can fool myself?? What are some of yours?

OMG That is so funny! Thanks for posting this, I thought I was the only one that had a little devil on my shoulder whispering BS in my ear! hahaha

    A few of mine :
    #1 reason * WHO CARES? I DON'T CARE, IT DOESN'T MATTER!
    * If no one sees, then I don't have to hold myself accountable (trying super hard to stop doing this!)
    * I'm not THAT fat (clinically obese... not that fat, ha!)
    * I will do better tomorrow
    * I won't eat chips because they are so terrible, so I will just have ice cream instead (how does that make sense?)
    * This little bit won't hurt
    * If I eat the ENTIRE bag of kit kats, then I won't buy any more so therefore I won't torture myself anymore. It's best for everyone if I just eat them all now!

    I thought of another one:

I'm getting my period soon, and I can't stop the cravings

    Hmm...
"I've been doing so well, I can eat a bag of chips."
***If I take more than I am hungry for, I still eat it, regardless if I am hungry or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!****
I am so tempted when I go into a gas station or something, I walk around and look at the calorie content on the back of the chip bags, trying to find the one with the least calories to satisfy my habits.
This site makes me realize that all my life, I have been obsessed with food and that I need to work on healthy eating habits and get over the obsession!

    This is a great idea!

The first one that came to my mind was (as apaden4 stated)

*I'll just eat the whole package, then it will be gone and I won't blow my calories for the next five days*

*I ate that half gallon of ice cream two weeks ago, and I managed to work it all off*
*At least I'm over-eating "good-for-me" food ( I recently bought Kashi's VIVE Probiotic Cereal) I ate the box in two days with these lame excuses)*
*If I just eat the peanut butter without the crackers, then I'll be ok*
*Popsicles aren't as bad as ice cream*

and the worst one *no one will know*

sorry i don't make excuses for myself. someone told me once "you don't give up the goal you reset the date". if you set a realistic goal and give yourself a realistic date to finish and then divide the work into smaller increments and reward yourself for achieving the smaller goals you will get there. in this situation a reward isn't to indulge in sweets but a reward might be to buy a new pair of jeans or a new outfit. if you give in to exercise your body will begin to work on auto pilot. once i started eating right and then saw that i was actualy getting faster results with my exercise i began to throw in another way to workout more instead of wanting to sit and eat some junk food. before you think anything else, i was a single mom for 18 yrs. i had to be focused and stay that way. do anything for 21 days and you will have developed a habit, make it a good one. while you are at it, go to ophray's web site and get the contract o girl o beautiful, you have to promise to luv yourself for who you are and every day give yourself a positive affirmation about something that makes you special. this is celebrate women month. now go for it, i know you can do it.

I almost gave in today with "I'm worried I'm over-training". But I didn't and felt better after my session.

NNNOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!! You are too close Healthier.

I have to admit I do the same - I call it self sabatoge. I think it is one of the big reasons why people gain weight after reaching their goal.

But I just can't wait to hear your news when you succeed. So, if you must, do it for me, okay?

I needed to read this just now :)

The past two days have been horrible and I've used all the excuses listed. I do feel like I'm coming down with a cold and am overly tired, but I can still be watching what goes in my mouth, huh? I think for lunch I'll go get a can of low-fat/sodium chicken broth an a orange. I should also be drinking more water, to flush this germ out of my system.

    Where to start!

It's whole grain so it is actually good for me so I can eat more of it.
Protein is good for you! I think I should have another piece of chicken.
I am too tired to work out. I will work out longer tomorrow.
Walking around the office counts as exercise, right?
    I am not that big.
And I definitely have to agree with the " I have pms, I have no control" mentality.
