Ive really never been a yogurt eater, but have a friend who is pushing me to eat Greek Low Fat Yogurt.

Well........Ok, but whoa........I picked up a container ( probably one pint and half) and it was 3.89..........again, Im not cheap, but this is kinda high, I ve got my property taxes in Nov, and its all little tight right now

Any yogurts comes close? ....Again, from what is being said, esp in the media and on cook shows, Greek is now the trend, but just wondered how you guys were handeling it........

I know dairy is important, and Im trying as I ve never been one to drink milk or eat eggs

Thanks Lloyd

Hi Lloyd I just bought greek yogurt for the first time this weekend due to all the positive hype I have been reading.

I was a little surprised that here in the capital of Canada I had a hard time finding it and when I did I was shocked at the price for the size of the container.

I got away from dairly last year and I'm trying to add it back into my food choices.

I don't mind paying for something that I like but I'm still undecided about greek yogurt.

We buy in bulk at Sam's club. Makes it much more affordable. It's great in smoothies

hi Sweet, thanks for the reply

I saw where some lady on this site chopped up strawberries in a blender, to handle the taste of yogurt She would want to hock it up when she tasted it plain so this lady on this site adds blendered up fruit to her Greek Plain Fat Free Yogurt

..Again ,even as a kid, I hated cheese, cottage cheese, and rarely drank milk

I bought some Greek Plain Fat Free yogurt last Sat and tried to eat it for breakfast, and have to admit, for me , it was like drinking paste......

And Ive tried that %2 milk, or fat free and just want to barf .............Its like drinking chalk water to me.......I hope I dont sound too finaky, just trying to find tips on trying to cope with eating yogurt or drinking fat free milk.........thanks Sweet.............Lloyd

    Lloyd:

I dont' know where you live, but if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, check their Greek yogurt selection. It is much cheaper than the regular grocery stores!

Wow... It's only $1 where I live! (Norman, OK). I'm getting yogurt coupons from bettycrocker.com, they have $1 off of several different kinds, including the greek. I got 4 Yoplait Fiber One's for $1. That's a quarter each!

Nina, I did a search, we have no Trader Joes here where I live, closest is 80 miles away.....But I can look into a close alternative for Plain Low Fat or Zero Fat.........I do read my labels at the grocery store.

I used to eat the Fruit at the Bottom kind, I think it was Dannon, but my same friend told me, it was comprable to eating ice cream...yum yum So much for eating healthy,, right, lol........

Hey, its expensive to eat healthy. They had a show, I think it was The Doctors, where one of them stated that its cheaper to get a Happy Meal at McDonalds than it is to buy a salad... Makes you wonder.

Ill research online......thanks for all your replies and support.........Lloyd

I like the Dannon Greek Yogurt with fruit on the bottom. I have a hard time with every other brand. They're just too... something. But the Dannon Blueberry and Honey Greek yogurts are good and not that high in calories. I did discover that I had to mix them really, really well and let them warm up for a few minutes before diving in or it was just too hard to get down.
