Precooked/prepackaged chicken?

Is there anything different about those packages of precooked chicken breast you get at the supermarket compared to buying your own chicken and cooking it? Is it more unhealthy? Obviously it's preferable as it's more convenient but if it's unhealthy it's not really worth it :)

This is what I mean btw.

200mg of sodium's not too bad, £3.00 for a 200g package ($5.50Cdn) is expensive by Canadian standards....

It's always healthier cooking it yourself.

The frozen grilled chicken I like has some carbs in it. I'm guessing they put something on it so it freezes better. And it has more sodium probably... Otherwise as long as it doesn't have preservatives, it's probably not that bad. But it tastes better, and it's easier. I don't buy it anymore now that I have a foreman grill but I still like the taste of those frozen breasts better.

I buy the Tyson Grilled and Ready fillets. The package says the ever skeptical wording "All Natural", but also "No preservatives". and "No added hormones or steroids". They are expensive to the tune of about $1+ a fillet, but I love them. I do hope they are healthy, or at least not harmful.

My only concern about those is sodium. I don't like eating too much salt because I hate how crazy thirsty I get from it. Other then that If you like them, go for it.
