Hey, can anyone recommend some homemade full of protein shakes without whey powder, and their nutritional value? Thanks in advance

Search the forum for protein smoothie, shake...something like that.

Without whey you are pretty much left with greek yogurt or ...other protein powders like pea, hemp, egg, casein...etc.

What about plant based protein powder? (no whey) I use vega protein powder, 1/4 cup greek yogurt, 1/4 cup oats, half a banana, half an apple, 1/2 cup mango, 1tsp chia seeds, 1 cup milk and mix in blender. I drink this for breakfast every morning.

    460 cal, 68g carbs, 6g fat, 43g protein, 9g fiber, 195mg potassium

If you want something that taste really good. Have a cup of plain greek yogurt (no added sugar), and blend it with a bit of fruit of your choice. I like strawberries and blueberries. Tons of protein, tons of nutrients.

I must have overlooked the part in OP where he asked for most disgusting protein shakes...

...although between these two, I think I'd prefer the steak one.

Whey is looking like a very good option. This may be why I use it.

Indeed. I primarily use an unflavored whey...which would more appropriately be named assflavored whey...which I would put a close third to those other two shakes I referenced.

If you use milk instead of water, would this be like an Orange Julius (she asks in an extremely doubtful tone)?

My son love this. In a turbo blender, it gets fluffy like ice cream and if you put any leftovers in a ziplock bag and freeze it, it's a good frozen desert.

I'm using the Breakfast Smoothie recommended on the Dr. Oz Two Week Rapid Weight Loss Plan:
    2 T. rice protein powder
    2 T. ground flaxseed
    1/2 cup frozen berries
    1/2 banana
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

I found it in the food database and am using it every morning. So far I'm feeling great and anxious to see if the elimination of wheat and sweets makes a difference.

(Are you tracking all calories and eating at a caloric deficit over time? If so, then *that* will most certainly make a difference.)

May I ask why "without whey powder?" Whey protein is an excellent protein source, so unless you dislike the taste, prefer vegan options, or have food allergies, I'm not sure why you would want to eliminate this as a protein source.

If you'd like some alternative protein sources, here are some I use to add to smoothies:
    - Chia seeds - vegan (soak in water for 10-15 min before adding to smoothies.)
    - Flax seeds - vegan
    - Bee pollen (although you won't want to add much to your smoothies; it will significantly change the taste. Also not vegan)
    - Egg whites or egg white powder
    - Cottage cheese
    - Yogurt (but be careful and add unsweetened or you increase the carb levels a lot when you add this)
    - Peanut (or other nut) butters - vegan

I do not recommend the following protein sources unless you consult your doctor first:
    - Soy
    - Maca (both soy and maca can cause hormonal changes and can exacerbate medical conditions and certain cancers)

I have not tried hemp powder, yellow pea protein powder, or rice protein.
