Fitbit and MyFitnessPal

Hi, all:

I apologize if this is a really stupid question, but my Fitbit and my account on this site are synced, yet Fitbit tells me that I have 400 calories left for the day, whereas MFP tells me that I have 1,000 calories left and that I have only eaten 500 net calories today! I take it Fitbit is more accurate because it's an actual tracker? I have had much success with MFP as a tool for calorie-counting, so I am reluctant to start relying more heavily on something else like Fitbit...

Is this a ridiculously stupid question? Am I missing something major here with regard to this discrepancy?

Just because the accounts are synced does not mean that your calorie goals are the same on each site. Start with the simple checks first.

The calorie goals are the same -- that's the thing. It looks like MFP is combining my 'regular' calories burned, as measured by Fitbit, with my exercise calories, and so is really underestimating my net calories.
