Regarding Logging in Meals

One of the problems I seem to have in regards to logging what I eat is that, since I'm at college and I usually eat from the cafeteria, I don't exactly necessarily know which item I eat correlates to what calorie amount (ex. A burger vs the ones input into the system), so I'm not sure specifically how accurate some of the estimations are.
There's also the problem where sometimes I will just not know specifically what a particular item is so I will occasionally just not list it.
Also, sometimes I just don't really know what the measurements are. I'll see things labled 4.oz, 2.oz,, 1 cup vs 2, etc, but I don't really know how to tell by looking at it.

I also sometimes fall really short of my calorie goal per day mainly because between classes and schoolwork I can't make enough time. The cafeteria closes at various times during the day, and on Sundays only serves Brunch and Dinner.

Any advice on this matter?
