Even if you make your profile private, if people are using the app, they can still post on your profile. It doesn't give that "MyChocolateDiet has made her profile private" or whatever message you get when you're online.

this sounds kinda cool for me if i come back and ppl have left nice notes over time on my wall, but for them won't they feel ignored?


I wouldn't want it to be like that one time when I forgot to tell that one guy i broke up with him and he called like 15 times while I was at that other guys house. that's just mean.

I just haven't been that into it lately. My mind has been all over the place and it's just looking sad i get on it sporadically and it's just not working out for me. I've been trying different things but I think the time has come to just walk away completely and then see what happens. I may not miss it or need it as much as I think I do and I'm ready to try that. (<===sounds almost exactly like what I told a therapist once when a guy I was breaking up with dragged me there convinced I MUST be crazy to be walking away from his fine *kitten*.)

ETA you've seen people quit all the time, and end up coming back weeks or even days later. I would just do the "going private" thing and see how you feel after a while.

It is a show of true strength to be able to walk away from something that has been a part of your life for soo long. The fact that you feel you may nolonger need MFP is a sign of true personal growth.

If you want to keep your profile up you can always remove all personal things and leave a "vacation message". This way people won't feel ignored and you won't lose what you have put in if you ever chose to return.

I wish you success and hope one day you will come back and share again with us your uniqueness.
