25 lbs Down but so is my Motivation! :( Need Cheer & Advise!

Hello everyone!

Just a short introduction about me: I’m Paula, I just turned 23 a couple of weeks ago and I’ve lost about 11 kg (25 lbs) in the past 6 months. My goal weight is 58 kg (128 lbs), so I’m still about a good 10 kilos away.

Lately, my motivation has been dwindling and I’ve been eating (mostly boozing, actually) well over my calorie budget. I used to enjoy and look forward to calorie-torching workouts that burn at least 700 calories. Now, I find it so “EAURGH” to even get to 500 calories. I’m not sure if these are the after effects of my birthday celebrations. But I really want to be inspired to go hard at it again – I still have quite a bit to go anyway!

I mostly jog/run for cardio, but I’ve been starting to incorporate weights into my training. What would your suggestion be for me to drop the kilos and to also sculpt + tone at the same?

Also, I’ve been meaning to try Insanity but I’m really intimidated by the thought of it.

Greatly appreciate your help and cheering on, friends! :flowerforyou:

How long have you been using weights? Building muscle might appear to slow your weight loss some since muscle has more mass than fat. Another thing I might suggest is re-evaluating your "calorie-torching" workouts. Have you considered the possibility that you are burning yourself out? Before my knee started bothering me a few days ago, I was burning a little over 400 calories in 30 minutes on the treadmill, then another 150-200 in about 30 minutes of weights.
  • Weights are where it's at! Definitely give those a shot for at least a month and you will see results. Beware the scale might go UP at first as your body will be like, "Ah what is this?!" but things will settle down don't worry. And you will build muscle and burn fat!

Like you, I lost 25lbs in 6 months ish and I am struggling with motivation now too. So feel free to add me if you want! I'm about 10-15lbs away from goal. Also it does go slower the closer you get to your goal weight. Your body doesn't respond as fast as it used to to dropping the weight. It's good to change up your workouts a lot so your body doesn't get complacent in its routine.

    Good luck!
  • Drinks have so many calories! I think your exercise routine is probably fine but I remember when I drank a lot and I had to finally get a new set of friends. Hard thing to do but every time I went out with them they all got stoned. I eventually dropped 60 pounds!
