New to the site and having fun with fitness!

A year ago it all started with the desire to run a 5k, to feel better about myself, and improve my health. I've never been a "skinny girl" type, even when I was super active and doing heavy labor at a horse farm 6 days a week. But this year brings a renewed desire to try to build muscle and lose weight. We are going to Hawaii, I have more races to run, and I just want to feel good about myself.

I discovered this site via a blog article and so far I am having fun seeing what I'm eating (actually shocked me on a few things - like how I really need to eat MORE), and keeping a record of my training journey. I'm not a huge forum user but I love reading everyone's blogs. :-)
