HELP!!! Pulled / Strained Abdominals

Hi :)

I've been suffering with a cold for about a week now (Coughs and sneezing alot).

On Sunday, I took an Abs class at the gym and yesterday my abs were sore ( in a good way!), but then I had a coughing fit and I think I've managed to pull my abs!!

It's so painful right at the top of my abs, right under my bra to just above my navel. It's sore to touch and I'm struggling to sit/stand straight without bringing tears to my eyes!!

I've taken ibuprofen and applied deep freeze to the area, but is there anything else I can do to speed recovery?

    I actually am nursing a very nasty strain in my obliques (right) from over extendin on lying leg press. The doctor told me to do the same exact things you are doing. I train through the pain and this is very dumb of me. You can turn a strain into a worse injury. Rest, and heal and you will have much better results that way. I am in alot of pain due to my ignorance.

    Thanks for the reply, I hate the idea of resting up, but seeing as I can't even stand without it hurting I guess thats what I've got to do!!
