where I work, I am in the public eye so I am not able to just sit at my desk and snack when I feel hungry. I try to have a large breakfast when I can but 9 times out of 10 I still get hungry before lunch. I could take a chance and sneak some snacks but risk getting caught is not worth losing my job over so can anyone recommend breakfast ideas that will keep me fuller longer? I work from 9-5 and lunch is usually at 1230. ill eat breakfast around 7...thanks

Pack it with lots of protein. Eggs, low fat meats, like ham, turkey bacon, lf cheese and veggies. Stay away from pancakes, waffles and things like that since carbs get used up pretty quickly.
Can you drink at your desk? If you can, get some on the go protein shakes and keep them in your desk and drink that if you get hungry.0 -
I'm in the exact same position.
I have breakfast about 6:30, lunch is at 12, and I can't really eat at my desk.
My way of dealing with it: PROTEIN. And then some more protein.
Whey protein shakes are a godsend. Two scoops is only 260ish calories and it packs more than 40g of protein. I can easily survive on this til lunch.
I also sometime have eggs. I scramble them quickly in the microwave with some cottage cheese and spinach. Huge amounts of protein, quick to make and eat and should keep you going til lunch
As an extra you could also try having a banana just before you start work, at around 8:45ish?
Hope this helps! I do struggle some days more than others but I'm lucky my bosses give me a little bit of leeway with small snacks like nuts or raisins so I do OK.0 -
Do you have a break room that you can quickly go into to eat a snack?
I used to have this same problem of working at a desk where I could not eat. I would go to the bathroom and eat a quick snack while I was walking to the bathroom and finished it once I got inside. It was something easy and quick to eat like a granola bar, cheese stick, a few crackers with peanut butter, etc. It wasn't gross eating in the bathroom -- I didn't take the food into the stall -- I just ate it in the "lobby" area where you wash your hands.
Are you allowed any other breaks that you could snack during?0 -
I can take bathroom breaks when I need to so that's an idea to try. I also like the idea of eating a banana right before I start and those protein shakes are sounding good too. thanks guys!0

high fiber oatmeal, eggs and some other protein like ham breakfast sandwiches, apples. pair these together and plan on getting a third of your calories from your breakfast. Can you drink anything at your desk? if so you could have a protein shake of some sort or a smoothie to help with the hungries. Seems challenging but just try a bigger and protein/fiber packed breakfast. This should help out a lot.0 -
If I wouldn't have been able to eat at my desk all these years, I wouldn't even need to be on here.0

learn to eat on the way to the bathroom.
really if you would get fired over eating at your desk, I would have a talk with your boss about ways you can eat more, to be healthier.0 -
can you have a drink @ your desk? I pour a protein shake into my "office" issued insulated mug and have that as my mid morning snack,0

This. Who knows, you might be the catalyst for a new employee driven health program at your work. Be courageous.0 -

I agree with this, the time between breakfast and lunch is when I tend to snack the most. I am trying to stop the snacking.
I have also been trying to get more protein with my breakfast, smoothies are the easiest way for me and I do very basic with that, frozen fruit, almond milk and protein powder. It tends to keep me full longer than most things.0
