Asking myself if eating the candy or not going on the treadmill is worth not fitting into my jeans. I try to keep my eye on the prize by looking at old pictures of me when I used to like shopping and could easily find my sizes. I want to be able to go out on the lake this summer and not cover up and hide under an old lady ugly mumu.

I ALWAYS feel better after working out. I know its cheesy but it really busts my blue moods.
  • I am there with you! I litterally plan out every meal for my week. I've had to play tricks on myself like leaving my debit card and cash in the car and keeping healthy snacks on hand. I don't deprive myself of food though! I actually just find healthier alternatives. For one, I let myself have one or more "sweet" everyday. They may be diet sweets, like the Smart Ones deserts of Fiber One brownies, but it satifies the craving that I have. I am so addicted to the feeling that I get when I have sugar, chocolate, and ice cream, so I just make sure I have those in diet form. When I go to Walmart and I am walking near my favorite area...the bakery...I check the back of the container to see how many calories, then I figure out..."if I eat this then I can't eat this..." And at the end of my shopping trip, I reward myself with a sugar free candy and a Coke Zero (I usually drink water). Another thing I do is I make a conscious effort to track ALL of my food! And I LOVE being under my calorie count. So, I make it a game...how far can I be under my calorie limit and still not be starving. Hope that helps!

What really gets me out of bed in the morning to exercise, even when my muscles are screaming and my bed feels like heaven, is my work out buddy. My boyfriend and I take our measurements together every 6 weeks and take progress photos. When I'm laying in bed, contemplating skipping a day, I think about him at his apartment, rolling out of bed and doing his workout and totally kicking my butt. I'm competitive, so the idea of having him do better than me really gets me moving.

I also use http://www.joesgoals.com/ which is just a simple goal calendar. I have goals set for my calorie count and my workout and nothing is more satisfying than looking back over my past week and seeing all those check marks.

    Good luck staying motivated!

I get to the point at least once a week. XD

I look at what I want to eat - whatever it is I'm craving. And then I look at the calories. And then I remind myself that if I can lose one pound a week, I could also easily GAIN a pound in a week, and do I really want to undo my progress? Because I know if I give in, I'm going to eat myself sick, see the scale go up in a week, and feel miserable.

So instead I promise myself an extra-unhealthy snack if I work out tonight. ;) It usually works.
