Losing weight at a "healthy" weight?

Hi all, I'm working on feeling comfortable with my body for the first time. I am a long time struggler with disordered eating, and have convinced myself the only way to lose is by eating almost nothing!
I've been in recovery for a year now, and I am finally feeling safe enough to get a healthy body the right way. However, I'm not 100% sure how to go about it.

I am 18 years old (19 next month), vegan, 5'4 on the nose and 127lbs atm. However, I am "small boned", so I know I would feel most comfortable around 115. I work out every day but Suday for 45min or so (cardio) and my intake is anywhere from 1000 to 1400 cal a day. I haven't lost much (3lbs or so) and I was wondering what you guys would recommend in terms of calories and workouts to shed those pesky 10-12 lbs?

thank you so much!

123lbs at your height seems extremely healthy. Since you are a recovering eating disorder victim, I would try to make it a point to eat 1400 calories a day, and think backwards, if you eat any less you are failing. Try to get a lot of protein so you can work on building muscle instead of losing lbs.

I am the same way. I am just under 5'3, and at about 114 pounds my BMI is in the lower range of healthy, but I too am very small boned and I have lots of areas of jiggly fat that I can't stand. People tend to tell me I'm just seeing things but when I run down the stairs, I feel the fat on my back jiggling and I hate it.

I don't really count calories though. I do track once in awhile, but mainly my focus now is on nutrition and strength and endurance. My goals are mainly to be able to achieve certain things while exercising (such as swimming a mile without stopping, doing pull ups unassisted, improving balance and flexibility so I can complete that tripod yoga pose) and meet certain nutritional goals, like having vegetables with every meal or snack, getting in enough protein each day, and lowering my intake of candy, chips, and pop.

I'm very much a work in progress. But I have noticed since I started focusing on these goals (about 6 weeks ago) instead of weight and jean size, my body has tightened up some, even though I am not much smaller overall and I haven't lost any weight for awhile.

I am 5'5, 47 years old and currently weigh 121lbs. (Very small boned) I am at my happiest between 115-117. I work out 5 days a week. I run 5 days and do circuit training with weights 4 days.

I was in maintenance but slowly a few lbs crept back on. You really have to play with your calories and find what works for you. I had to up my carbs to help with my long distance running, initially that made me gain, so I lowered my cals to compensate and its finally working.

It sounds like with your history that you will never be happy. When will you count as being at your goal weight? Your weight could vary 3 or 4 pounds in a day so say you hit the 115 pound mark in the morning by dinner time or the following day you could be 118 pounds then the following day 116. So at what point will you be happy? You are already a very healthy weight I think you need to concentrate on fitness if your after a look why not look at some resistance training. Eat at maintenance and the right resistance work and you'll lose inches. Pop over to the fitness board and ask there. there are some very knowledgeable people there. I really hope that you don't try and lose more fitness really is the way to go for you. Good luck
