in 5 years of doing this ive never once weighed myself on vacation. i take one, sometimes 2 a year. i eat mindfully, but at the same time, get what i want. if that means appetizers and deserts, so be it. i dont get any purposeful exercise in, though am fairly active.
5 years, 5 years of holidays, birthdays and we will say 8 vacations. all of which are times when i dont track or exercise and do what i want.
ive lost 100+ pounds. maintained for the past 2 years and am now working on the last few pounds.
a vacation will not derail your progress long term, unless you let it.

I went on vacation and ate everything to my hearts content, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, ice cream, everything!!! Then I came home and got the flu. And didn’t gain a thing between the vacation and the sickness. Moral of the story you never know what kind of curve ball life will throw at you. Enjoy the vacation and worry about everything else when you get back!0
