is brown sugar better than white sugar? or is there really no difference and they are both equally bad for your diet?

They are pretty much the same aside from brown sugar having molasses in it. In minimum moderation you'll be fine eating either. Just don't go nuts and start spooning that ****.

Brown sugar is basically just white sugar with molasses. It may be higher in calories per serving, but even then I'm not sure if that's true for the store bought stuff. When I -need- brown sugar, I just mix it up myself.

Neither is "bad" for your diet if you don't overeat them. I just don't find sugary foods filling, so it's easy to go over board with them. However, they do make me happy, so it's a trade off.

They are both fine in moderation. They are only 'bad' for your diet if you cannot moderate and end up eating so much that you end up doing over your calorie goal or you do not get enough other foods to have a diet balanced in appropriate nutrients.

thanks guys! appreciate the help... was just wondering which i should use as a teaspoon in my nightly cup or 2 of tea... i guess either would be fine really. its not much sugar so i don't think it will become problematic :)

A teaspoon is like 20 calories (or so). That is nothing. Go for it.
