a bit confused

I have recently rejoined, I am 5'2 and at 170lbs. My calorie goal is 1200. does that mean I cannot surpass that amount if I want to lose lbs or I need to eat at least that much or a bit more to meet my goal? Also at the end of the day I have surpassed certain things (overage in protein, for example and under in some, example sodium, which I guess is good )

    Aim at being close to that goal...plus your exercise burn. Don't stress over being a tad over or under, but get close. Don't worry about being over on protein...MFP sets that macro very low. You can even use that number as a minimum if you like!
