Major weight gained

Hello, I just have a quick question. A year ago I was 235 lbs working out 5 days a week for 3 hours a day with a personal trainer. (It was for highschool football). Well, my dad passed in the same year and it lead me to depression and gaining 50 lbs. I just stopped being active and ate a lot of unhealthy foods. My question is, if I were to become active again would it be easy for me to shed this weight off? By the way, I am 6ft 3.

I THINK IT WOULD COME OFF PRETTY EASY... being that you are young and healthy! (im assuming!)

my little brother is on the o-line, so, he is pretty large and beefy to begin with... during the season, he trims down fairly fast, but off season, he packs on some weight... comes right back off as soon as training kicks off strong again!
  • Well, easy is a relative term but it certainly isn't going to get any easier

im just thinking easy as in compared to us older people. he mentioned high school football, so im assuming he is younger and high school has been some time recent. i know losing weight now, compared to losing weight when i was a teen are two different things. when i was a teen, all i had to do was cough and i lost weight, now i have to beat it out of me :)

You lose weight in the kitchen, you get in shape in the gym. Just start watching the calories. You'd be amazed at how small tweaks in your diet can cause you to start dropping weight fast. Good luck!

Is there any dieting tips you kind people could provide? I don't even know where to start. I started to drink water, but I don't know whether to take a diet pill to help or just really cut calories down.

no dont take a pill. find your proper calorie intake, and get some exercise. thats it. dont make it hard, dont deprive yourself of foods you like. enjoy your life, just moderate your intake and get moving!
