    It's always something. These circumstances don't happen overnight and the market does adjust pricing before it actually happens. Current pricing is the result of all accumulated apocalyptic events, current or otherwise.

    I actually live in this area and while yes, things are bad concerning rain and agriculture, part of this article is just fear mongering. Mendota wasn't exactly a thriving metropolis until the most recent drought. Also, while other parts of the state have been seeing decent economic recovery, this area was hit a little harder and is struggling a little more to do so. Blaming all of the business closures on the drought is shortsighted.

    TL;DR: Is it bad? Yes. Is it panic and buy out all of Costco's toilet paper (and canned food)? Not yet.
