Hello myfitnesspal community,

If my ticker is working, you can tell I've a long way to go. Let's reach our goals together!!

I got to 180 from 220 over last Summer through Winter of last year and was so happy with my success, I stopped my healthy lifestyle and gained all 40 pounds of it back. I hope this site allows me to achieve my primary goal of 165 (or other healthy weight) this time around and maintain it!

Quick question though, say I dont want to gain mass. Will I still lose 2 lbs a week if i jus maintained the caloric requirements? Also, will I lose 2 lbs per week if I dont exercise period were I to maintin the caloric requirements? My large loss last year was a success because I did it over summer and had so much time. Doing this now when I'm back in college, full time, seems very daunting in addition to class, out of class work, and extra curricular activities.

Thanks for any encouragement and/or tips in advance!!

Welcome to MFP! If you set it to 2lbs. a week you should be able to lose that without exercise. It is a lot more difficult to do that without exercise though. If you do exercise this will help your metabolism and you can also eat more if you are exercising. Good luck reaching your goal!

Hi new Kid! I'm PM! I am sort of new! I joined last month on the 31st! I wanted to tell you that all you have to do is to stay focused on your goal. No excuses. Make it your priority. Now that is always easier said than done.

I once stayed very focused on loosing weight for seven months. Jan - July. I lost 128 pounds. I began by changing my diet, and walking at an indoor track every day before work. The reason I did it before work, was because, after work, I would always have a reason or excuse why I could not work out. Well, long story short, the combination helped me tone and loose the weight. I kept it off for a couple of years. Like you, I have fallen into bad habbits and now I am back to square one. I was down to 150 pounds and now 12 years later this past July, I was at 329. My doctors said I was prediabetic. My body has began to break down and fall apart.

I really have a reason to loose weight now but it is a little tricker because of the exercise. However, I am finding a way. I am down to 311 and counting. I began tracking my food, and the fitness calendar show a loss of 14 pounds since August 31st. If I can do it, you can too. However, like me, you must stay focused. I have 3 jobs, and a couple of boyfriends. Moreover, I will be 44 on Saturday. If I can keep my focus, you can too.

    Good luck!
