HI. I was told that if you are over weight and you start doing sit ups or ab workouts that your stomach won't go down. It'll just get hard and you won't lose weight. Is this true? Since I am over weight should I stay away from sit ups or crunches? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

They won't prevent your belly from getting smaller, but they won't help either. Ab exercises don't reduce ab fat.0

It's pure fabrication. The only thing they will do is work on building muscles there. You will lose the fat in your belly as you're losing fat everywhere else.0

Goodness, who told you that??? What a strange bit of advice. Doing sit-up/crunches alone won't make you lose weight but they won't just turn what fat you may have into rock either. Ab exercises help develop a good core which is a good thing!!0

Doing them alone won't help so
Much, but combining them with cardio and strength would pay off the whole body fat.0
