Eating double the protein yet protein deficient...huh?

I had a blood panel done just for a regular check up at the doctor. They called this morning and said that my Vitamin D and protein levels are low. I didn't ask how low but I did ask if they had the right patient. lol I'm stumped. I understand the Vitamin D but I always get in my protein - averaging between 80-100 grams a day. My diet is made up of protein, veggies and complex carbs. When I explained this to the nurse; she said to just continue what I'm doing and they will recheck me in two months. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen?
