Hi guys,
I am very new to this and I am so confused by all the material I am reading as it pertains to % of carbs, proteins, calories etc. It seems the numbers assigned to me are very high. I am losing weight down 15.2 in 9 days but I also have roughky 180 to lose. I want to do this right. I want it to be highy effective and I am not afraid to be strict with my food I just need to know which direction to go. I also would love to keep and build upon the little bit of muscle that I have but ultimatly first I need to drop ALOT of fat. Any advice is appreciated very much!

If you are losing weight then I would say your numbers are correct right now. They will change later on but right now it's working really well so stick to it. Be proud of losing 15.2 in 9 days. You don't want to lose weight too fast because it's not healthy so don't change anything just yet until the weight loss slows down. As long as you have a caloric deficit you will lose weight.0

I'm really not doing anything to try to lose it fast, that is just what is happening. I have not even started exercising yet as I wanted to get the nutrition change under my belt before trying to do too much at once. I think when a person has so much to lose it does tend to come off rather fast in the beginning or so I have been told. Thank you for your advice, it is appreciated!0

I agree with the previous responder ... stick to it! Your body will go through a shock period where weight will come off quicker because you are drastically changing your lifestyle.
No matter your size you need to fuel your body once you start working out. Don't be afraid of the calorie number, unless it isn't working!0 -
Figure out your protein macro as around 0.85g-1g per lb of *lean* body mass and try to hit that each day, as this will help you retain the lean body mass (e.g., muscle) that you already have. As for your fat and carb macros, I would adjust those to fit your personal preferences. Some people like to go low fat while others like lower carb while others like them roughly balanced - don't be afraid to experiment to find what works for you. As for calories, are you unhappy/going hungry on your current caloric intake? If so, you may want to set a less aggressive goal. If not, stick with it.
In short, realize there is no right answer and understand it's perfectly fine to make adjustments to your plan going forward. Provided you maintain a caloric deficit, you will continue to lose weight.0 -
Yeah it's very common for it to come off fast when you first start. I know someone who just started this and lost 7 lbs by week 1. So I think you're doing great and good luck on reaching your goal!0

Losing weight is really 80% nutrition. It's amazing how just eating more veggies and fruits can kick start our metabolism! My main suggestion would be to stay away from the fast food and just highly processed food in general as much as possible. Every once and while is a nice treat (or if its healthy and fits in your calorie limit), but you'll feel a lot better eating fresh meats and fruits and veggies!
Once you stall on the weight loss, then it'll probably be time to reevaluate the carbs and proteins and calories. For now, keep it going! You got this!0 -
I know how you feel. You are dedicated and determined to get the weight off, you just need advice on how to do it. It is confusing due to all of the different opionions and studies and one study reveals this, and one study reveals that. You are doing great so keep it up. I know from experience that as long as you stay in your calorie limit, you will lose weight no matter what you eat. You do, however, for health reasons, need to try and get a lot of protein in your diet and cut out some of the processed food that contain a bunch of calories and not much nutrition to fill you up. I try to do a 80% 20% split. I try to eat about 20% worth of indulging foods to prevent an all out binge. Good luck to you my friend and keep truckin!0
