Weight lifting for weight loss

I hear it's a very way to lose some weight and inches.

I own 3 sets of dumbells and I am just about to find out how to actually use them however I was wondering...

Has anyone incorporated them into their work out of began using them and what kind of results/time frame did you get?

I'm already eating mostly paleo and doing insanity so this would just be a bit of extra umph for me for the bits of insanity I cannot do.
