Fitbit Flex & Polar FT4 Together?

I have a flex, and FT4. I wear the flex during normal daily activities and I use the FT4 during my cardio. My question is, what is the proper way to track this? Take the flex off during my workout so it doesnt 'double dip'?

Thanks

I wear the Polar FT 7 and a Nike Fuel Band. I wear the Polar so I know how many calories I burn and I use that on MFP to track calories. I wear the Nike to get Points and have fun with it. My calories burned on the Nike isn't quite the same as the HRM.

Do you have your FitBit synced to MFP? If so, wear both your HRM and your Polar FT4 during workouts and then enter your workout on MFP with the calorie amount that the Polar gives you. Make sure when you enter your workout that you enter the exact time you started and the duration of the workout on MFP. This will then sync and override the calories with FitBit's so you do not double log workouts.
  • I wear my fitbit all day & remove when I get to the gym, use my ft4 to record cardio & strength.
Works fine as long as I remember to put fitbit back on when I'm done!
Both sync with mfp when I get home.

I take my fitbit off when I put on my polar - my polar syncs automatically with digifit.

^^ This, no need to take your fitbit off. I wear mine 24/7 (except when I take a shower) and I cardio, hiking etc and everything calibrates fine without any duplication.
  • Awesome guys thank you for the info. I did not know you could do that with the times!

The time part only shows up once you sync your FitBit to MFP.
  • I have it syncd now thank you!
