Use the gym as a stress outlet. Turn your phone off when you are there, so any real world issues don't follow. Gym time is your time. Don't care if you just walk on the treadmill and watch Jerry Springer reruns. The world will continue to spin while you are in a self induced "Time Out".

Maybe take a weekend to yourself and disappear. No phone, no news casts. Just rent a cheap hotel for a night and watch crappy old movies and have a picnic in the park for lunch. Sometimes unplugging from the world brings a lot of clarity.

Also, I tend to explain to people that I do not like being treated in a certain way and that I expect this behavior to change. Don't give ultimatums to people, because you put their back to a wall. Simply do not allow yourself to be treated poorly. Be level headed and willing to take actions to stop or reduce poor behaviors from people in your life.
