Do I really have to consume the calories I burn off?

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else doesn't eat back the calories they burn off. I haven't but, I want to do this the right way. Also how many calories do you eat for breakfast a day? I found myself going to bed hungry every night. Thanks!

I usually eat part of my exercise calories back. I'll burn about 600 a day, and eat 200-300 back. Right now I usually eat around 200-600 calories for breakfast, and it ranges from instant oatmeal to biscuits and hashbrown at McDonald's. Hmmm if you have room to spare extra calories, and you are going to sleep hungry, maybe you should eat something small. I like eating popcorn, fruits, peanut butter sandwich with milk or a banana with milk are pretty low calorie snacks and extremely filling!0

i eat them, if I am hungry. I find that usually the estimated calories burned are over, and that what people log are under. so i try to eat about half or less. some days, Im starving and don't run, i can go over that day cause i was way under on the days before. it seems to work. Lost about 2 a week since the first. I also find if i eat a big break fast, i am starving later. I like to eat small things a few times. and i am going to bed hungry right now. but i did drink a half glass of almond milk 30 cals, kills the pang0

Same with me, I eat them if I am hungry but don't make a point to have to eat them. But I like to have a little cushion.0

I am following TDEE minus 20% which is already taking into account my exercise so I am typically not eating back burned calories. A typical breakfast for me runs about 300-400 calories. I focus on eating protein with every meal (including snacks) which helps keep my appetite under control.0

It depends. Everyone is different.
I eat some of mine back. I do not get my calories burned from MFP, which can be exaggerated. Still I don't eat all of them back! I eat maybe 200-300 of a 700 calorie burn back. Usually these calories are at night time and are in the form of a snack of my choice Today I had carrot sticks and light ranch, and a small packet of Skittles. The other day I had frozen yogurt as my snack.
Some people find they lose more weight by eating all or most of their calories back. Other people find they actually maintain on eating the calories back and find that eating 50% of the calories back works for them.
I would say if you are hungry have a snack or plan smaller meals throughout the day.0 -
Calories burned are an estimate. Eat at least a portion of them back. Track it as closely as you can and adjust as needed. Give it 4-6 weeks before you change again.0

I eat most of them back, most of the time. They're mine, and I want them!
Breakfast for me averages between 300--400 calories most days. If you're going hungry...either your goal is too low to begin with, or you need to make sure you leave yourself room for an evening snack.0
