Any stationary bike advice, or success stories?

For the past month, I have spent about 30 minutes a day on my stationary bike. I didn't start out doing it for this long, but I gradually became stronger and upped my minutes. Well, my boyfriend believe that I will not be able to lose weight doing this. That it is only a leg workout. It seems to be doing well for me so far. I also do strength training every other week day. Mainly my cardio, has come from the bike. I was wondering if there are any success stories out there, from people who primarily use their bike?Or is my boyfriend right, and I should be trying different cardio exercises?
