Morning all !
It is Friday morning here, although I suspect it's late afternoon/early evening Thursday for many of you! My name is Nat, hailing from Adelaide, South Australia.
Came to MFP about a month or so ago, looking for a calorie counter (I was finding it too tedious to track my calorie intake by reading/noting info from box panels). I was pleasantly surprised to find that many (if not most) Aussie brands/products were well represented. On many calorie tracking sites, only US products are represented and not an accurate reflection of their Aussie versions (many US mainstream product recipes have been altered for the Australian market...extra sugar).
I started my journey @ 129.8 lbs (5'2" tall) following the 5:2 diet (i.e. eat normally 5 days - fast 2 days) but hit a plateau @ 118 lbs. I Needed a way to nip the last 8 lbs in the butt and so far, MFP has been doing the job nicely. I'm 3 lbs away from my goal and should attain it in the next month (yay!). I particularly like being able to change my parameters and set them according to my progress: I'm currently in "weight loss" mode but once I reach my goal, I can change it to "maintenance" mode and know how many calories to eat without guessing.
Cheers,
Nat
