Calorie Goal

Options
Hi

So I am 180cm Tall so 5.9 foot according to googles conversion.

MFP has set my calorie goal to 1200 calories to loose 1 kg a week (2 pounds)
I have been reading other entries and people have been saying that it is only short ladies that need that low a goal to loose weight. I am just wondering why it is so low.

I have made sure that I entered my height in correctly.
I do have an office job so am fairly sedentary.

Oh and I weigh 88kgs at the moment and my TDEE is 1744

Its because you told the program you wanted to lose 2 lb a week...and 1200 is as low as it will ever tell you. Tell the program you want to lose 1 lb a week...more calories, easier, more sustainable.

^^^^I agree with this, try setting to 1lb and then 1.5lb and see what it looks like. Also exercise a lot, increase your NEAT and eat it all back. Its amazing what you can do just by walking. I'm 195lb, 6"1 at the moment and my average calorie intake is well over 2000 calories a day and I am still loosing about 1.5lb per week :-)

    im 5'8.5
and my calorie count is also 1200
I do want to target 2lbs so that by summer
I will have the results I want.
Also by having such a high goal I do allow myself
to go over my calories up to 200+
therefore in actuality I am consuming (1200-1400)
and I try to workout 3x week 30-60min.
I just rather do it that way to "trick" my mind into
    staying within the calorie max.
