I'm just wondering...

I've seen a couple of threads on here dealing with plateaus... (Haha! a 'couple') I'm one week into my second month, and I'm making steady progress, but it's such a daily struggle... I read someone to say they felt it got a bit easier into the second month. I wondered if anyone has any encouraging words to say on this?

I'm happy with the fact that I'm making progress, at least I'm not going up! But I can't help once in awhile thinking that 12 lbs in the face of a 100 is like nothing, and I'll never again be the person I want to be.

Now, see, I know that's not true, but hopefully someone can identify here!

Did you just say you've lost 12 pounds in just over a month? That is amazing!

Go to the grocery store asap, and look at twelve pounds of butter. That, or its equivalent, used to live on your body! Not anymore!

Find something that weighs 12 pounds. Put it in your cart (or better yet, carry it). Feel how heavy it is? Now put it down, and realize that
A: you used to carry that EVERYWHERE.
    and
B: you have put it down. forever.

This takes time, and it takes patience. If it were easy, everyone would do it!

New habits do get easier once they become habits, but this may always be a struggle. but, it's worth it.

Seriously, now go to the grocery. Eat something first. (never go to the grocery store hungry.)

Hate to break the news, but plateaus can happen at any time depending on the person. The worst one I had was for a little over a month. Lucky for me I was loseing inches. Every one kept telling, be honest with the plan and let time take care of it. And of course, muscle more dense than fat so you can even gain as you work out but the fat is going away.

Bottom line is, healthy eating is the #1 things, loosing inches is the #2 importants, and the scale is the lowest priority, but most people worship the scale like it the only thing in the world.

"Time solves all problems, and nothing last for ever, not even fat."
