I was really bummed to see this morning that the Force was recalled. I've been waiting for months for it to be released in France and now I will have to wait even longer. I noticed something was up when they went from taking pre-orders from France to "we don't have any release date information".
Here's hoping they get the issue sorted soon! I'd really love one.

We wanted to provide an update on our investigation into reports we have received about Force users experiencing skin irritation.
From the beginning, we’ve taken this matter very seriously. We hired independent labs and medical experts to conduct a thorough investigation, and have now learned enough to take further action. The materials used in Force are commonly found in many consumer products, and affected users are likely experiencing an allergic reaction to these materials.
While only a small percentage of Force users have reported any issue, we care about every one of our customers. We have stopped selling Force and are in the process of conducting a voluntary recall, out of an abundance of caution. We are also offering a refund directly to consumers for full retail price. We want to thank each and every member of the Fitbit community for their continued loyalty and support. We are working on our next-generation tracker and will announce news about it soon.
For additional information, please contact our support line at: 888-656-6381, or visit http://www.fitbit.com/forcesupport.

either that or nickel if any metal's in contact with the skin (not seen the actual device so I don't know). I'm allergic to nickel, it's a PITA because symptoms don't appear until around 24 hrs after being in contact with it, and as it's stuff like cheap jewellery that causes it, it may have been in contact with my skin for a full 24 hrs before the reaction occurs, then I get 24 hrs worth of allergic reaction in one go.... metal bits on jeans, belts etc in contact with my skin also cause it, although a coat or two of clear nail varnish fixes it for that (need to reapply every now and then). Cheap jewellery can't be fixed that way though.... It's good to be able to tell people that I can only wear expensive jewellery though :drinker: 24 carat gold is the safest bet, have to be sure there's no nickel in there at all :drinker:0 -
I got the force at Christmas. I am one of the unfortuate ones with a reaction. I have been keeping it in my pocket. I am really sorry to hear about the recall though,as I like it a lot. I got a fitbit one in Feb 2013 and I feel the tracking on the force does a much better job picking up total steps, at least for me it has. I have been using them both, simultaneously, since I got the force, and it has more step than the one every day.0
