T25 vs Insanity

I began my weight loss journey in July, completing the Couch to 5K program in just over 6 weeks. I continued running and in January I found myself bored with the treadmill and started the T25 workout program. I love it! I often do it twice a day. I am halfway through the beta phase and am wondering if I should order the gamma phase and continue, or if I should try Insanity. Anyone have advice?

    I'd get the Gamma phase.
I've read that the Gamma phase is a good way to build yourself to Insanity.
Insanity is pretty tough and isn't much like T25. :/

I haven't done Insanity but just my two cents: I'm going to continue on and do Gamma before I do Insanity. I have the workouts already and they're really great and fun, and I think it will be good preparation.

I've done both. Insanity is great but the workouts are 40 minutes and longer the farther you get. So if 25 minutes works for you, stay with it.

I'd go Gamma first, that will keep you busy for another 8 weeks.

I got bored with Insanity. T25 helped keep my attention.

I loved Insanity. T25 is a great workout, but I thought Insanity was more "fun", so I am partial to it. Both are challenging programs. Insanity's workouts are much longer, so if you're tight on time, T25 accomplishes a great cardio workout, if that's what you're after. One thing I noticed with T25, Shaun T. doesn't cue as well as he did in Insanity, which was a bit irritating to me. On a positive note, it's nice that T25 has a modifier demonstrating lower impact moves for those who need it.

I am finishing up Beta and will be doing Gamma. I have done Insanity. Personally I like T25 better. I got better results with T25.

I just ordered Gamma today...(from Ebay) I like T25, although not every dvd. I watched Gamma on some youtubes and it looks like fun. I love the 25 minutes and do a longer DVD a few times a week when I have time.

If he comes out with a shorter Insanity I might think about it. I did a 20 minute Insanity "Fast and Furious" I bought on Amazon, but it seemed like a demo for the original Insanity and although it was fast, it wasn't done well and showing one guy dropping out (it was 20 min) seemed odd. That was a disappointment. http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/insanity-fast-furious.do
  • I had planned on ordering through ebay as well. I have borrowed the alpha/beta set from a friend. Is the gamma phase a stand-alone series or will I still need the alpha/beta set while doing gamma? I am wondering if I should just order all 3 phases for myself. One place I looked seemed like gamma had its own workouts but also sounded like some of the previous workouts from alpha and/or beta were brought back into the gamma calendar.

I think it's an either/or type of thing, you can start it early if following the program verbatim or just do Gamma alone. I don't plan on using both the way the calendar says but maybe going back to Beta for abs or just a change of pace. It seems to more strength and I like to mix up cardio with other DVDs or walking so that's fine with me.

    This review was good"

I might have found it cheaper if I waited longer or did an auction, but 45 seemed good. I have seen it for 35.
  • Hi There, keen to try T25, i keep getting defeated by Insanity's 60 days. How many days is T25 meant to be for?

T25 regular Alpha and Beta is 50 days. it's 10 weeks (5 days a week)

But it goes fast!.... no breaks and a little 25 min a day only.
  • I've completed Alpha and Beta ~ Gamma is ordered and should be here any day! I have to admit, I felt like I got more out of Alpha than Beta ... maybe the changes were just different and not as obvious as in Alpha when it was a new program. ??? Hoping Gamma brings on some weight loss and inches lost!
