MFPs vs Celebrities

I found this http://graemethomasonline.com/skinny-fat-not-just-hollywoods-problem/ and halfway down the page you see exactly what you get if you train with Tracey Anderson. I think it also really opens up debate on 'men's fitness' being completely separate to 'women's fitness' (and don't get me started on the magazines...). Anyway, it shows what's going on in terms of exercise and diet that some celebrities are doing - in this case, it's Gwyneth Paltrow. Paltrow herself points out in the video that she carries her child around with her left arm - and Anderson's giving her 3lb weights for her right in a bid to even it up?????!!!!! I'm not surprised Paltrow dreads cardio when she's on a starvation diet. Does Anderson get picked by female celebs because she supports their fear of 'bulking up'? I also understand that to be fit, healthy and look the way I want it's going to be hard work, but if you're not enjoying the whole process then you're doing it wrong, Gwyneth. It just makes me think about the one type of the female beauty ideal we're constantly bombarded with, and the deprivation/Photoshop required to achieve it.
Thankfully I was raised with good self esteem and lucky genes (thanks, Jamaican Mum!) so I've never really compared my body to that of female celebrities. However, since joining MFP it's so amazing to see bodies that I do notice and that I am utterly inspired by. I can see myself in relation to you - I see the individuality of each body and I totally identify with the highs and lows inside that body. I have read a lot of threads in the week I've been here, and it's really made me see things with a new perspective (why I'm doing this, my expectations, etc). You're awesome.

Wow! Never lift over 3 lbs, work out 2 hours a day, and eat 950 cals a day. Sounds legit. :noway:0
