I think someone may have already mentioned sprints, they wipe you out and you can do them on the bike, rower or elliptical machine.
No set routine just start where you can and build up.
Even if you can only do I rep of a sprint to start with great, it's a start.
I would suggest that when you do start don't go all out 100% on the sprint maybe 85% and then work your way up on each time you do (who knows you maybe a natural and find these simple to do.
My current routine is (on the bike)
2 minute easy pace warm up
Ramp up the resistance to full - 100% full out 15 second sprint.
Resistance back down to really easy and then recover for 2 minutes.
I repeat this 5 times (I'm working up to 8).
The beauty of this work out is you burn very few calories whilst doing it, but afterwards your body will continue to burn calories for 24-48 hrs afterwards.
I would suggest only doing this once or twice a week.
Do a bit if research into it and good luck.0 -
Add Kangoo Jumps to the list. It's a killer workout and so much fun.0

+1 for elliptical (with intervals of higher resistance); swimming (at PACE); treadmill with steep incline 6/7 degree intervals or walking at 7degrees 7kmph for a longer period of time.0
