logging question

no calorie stuff, tea, packets of splenda, stuff like that. do you bother?

also, what about the 2 bits of cereal you stole out of your daughters bowl when you pour her cereal? just to get the morning breath taste out of your mouth until you wake up enough to go brush. how on earth would i log 2 individual cookie crisp bits anyway?

I try to log everything unless it's literally just one bite/nibble/sip and I haven't been having those little one-bites all day (it adds up!).
  • I log everything. It's the obsessive part of me...plus, I will often forgo the one bite just so I don't have to log it. HAHA

    Yup, this ^

And if you force yourself to log it, even if it's a guess (you can enter in .10 serving size) it helps you see where/when you're nibbling and is a deterrant since it's such a pain in the *kitten*.

if I eat it, and it has calories. I log it. Otherwise, I don't eat it.

Tea and coffee are off the hook, but I have created an entry I call "Costco bits and bites" I keep track of how many things I try and enter this when I get home. I try to go for Friday lunch to get a good variety

When I bake, I enter a serving just for whatever I licked out of the bowl.

I sometimes log things like that because of the other nutritional content. For example, high sodium but zero calorie store-bought soda water pushes quite quickly through the daily sodium levels. But if I'm making my own soda water with a Soda Stream then I wouldn't log that because it's just tap water. Either way, if you are just monitoring calories then it doesn't matter.

When I cook sauces, chili, soups, etc I taste - I don't log those - when I am cutting veg I might pop a bite of carrot or celery in my mouth I don't log those - a couple pieces of cereal isn't going to matter much if you are under your calorie goal - unless you habitually take bites all day long I wouldn't bother

Splenda packets are easy to add to your logging and 1 packet has a carb. So depends on what you are tracking or how many you are having in a day I suppose.

I have to be honest in my logging because popping a couple of cookie crisp pieces just makes me want a whole bowl of the stuff. I'd brush instead! :blushing:

Some days if I know I've been tasting more then a couple times, I just add 50 calories.

the splenda is 1 a day, 2 if i go to bad *kitten* coffee and get one there.

and i'm not coherent in the am till after that cup of coffee. i can barely get my daughter out to the school bus on time. adhd SUCKS.
