    I was exactly like that with the oatmeal when I first began, weighing the grams or ounces of all your food really is important.

    I don't have a scale, and even if I did, I'd probably STILL make mistakes measuring. Even when I eat at maintenance, I will probably set my calories lower than maintenance for this very reason. (No sneaky 34 pound gains for me! lol)

    I bought a scale due to this video and the folks on here last year constantly saying to do it; the las few pounds came off easier this way. Your method would work too, for newer people though, I remember this being the number one reason people plateau.
