Calories & protein intake during injury recovery

I recently tore my MCL, and I've been reading about nutrition requirements, and almost everywhere I look it says the BMR will increase 15%-50% (depending on severity of injury), and protein should be 1g/lb at a minimum, with a goal of 1.5g-2g/lb. Currently I'm eating probably about .6g/lb, and I need tips on how I should increase my protein. Any other insight on injuries and recovery would be appreciated.
