Hitting my macros : /

I changed my macros from the MFP-setting of 20protein/30fat/50carb to 30/30/40, which means getting around 100g of protein a day. (I'm a vegetarian, by the way.) I've noticed my eating has gone downhill, partly because brownies, but more notably, because I can't seem to get enough protein the natural way, and am stuck eating weird processed soy-meat stuff (which undeniably tastes good), and fewer vegetables and no oatmeal (because it messes up my carbs). Should I change my macros back? Should I stop focusing on my macros as much? Do you think it's more important (for you) to get the macros right, or to just eat generally good foods, including lots of vegetables?
PS: If you're looking at my food diary, just know I ate horribly this weekend (PARTAYY) but I'd say Thursday the 20th was a pretty representative day of me trying desperately to get enough protein.

I found the same when I upped the carbs in my macros as I tend to try and eat low carb and figured I'd tewak it. End result was unhealthy carbs and also some weird protein elements to keep the fat down. After a few days I figured I'd go back to what works for me which is 40p, 35f and 25c. Straight away I just felt better and more able to eat the foods I like, relatively healthily wihtin those guidelines.
In your shoes I'd probably switch back to what works unless there's a reason not to? You could add some PB or nuts to your diet to up protein whilst still getting some carbs from those?0 -
Can you add soy protein to smoothies? I have a hard time getting enough protein and that's with eating animal products. I would never make it without protein powder.0

I don't like eating a ton of animal products, which I find I have to do in order to hit my 30%.0 -
