HRM for swimming

I'm looking to invest in a heart rate monitor but I love to swim so I definitely want it to be as accurate as possible in the pool. I thought I found my answer with Polar FT1/FT2 but those HRMs do not give me calories burned. Polar FT4 is a possibility but the website states it is not accurate.
Anyone know of good monitors for swimming?

You can use the FT4, but don't touch the buttons while it's still wet, or you'll damage it.

Haha thanks! Yea the site mentions it. I'm a little scared about that. I know myself...I can imagine that as I'm swimming my arm glides by my thigh and clicks button. Nightmare!!

It is my understanding that your HR is lower when swimming thus HRMs are not accurate for tracking calorie burns for this activity.

I have the ft4 and I've used it for aqua zumba and swimming. I'd say its 50/50. Sometimes it works for the entire workout and that makes me super happy..........other times it says check hr transmitter and I try adjusting the strap and sometimes it works and other times I just say screw it. Maybe it has something to do with the chlorine? I don't really know.

Yeah...according polar's website the chlorine messes with the electrodes on the chest strap so they suggest buying a different strap for the pool but it costs $50 more!! Ugh I guess it's worth making the massive investment sooner rather than later.
