    an open diary might help

200g of steak containing 54g of protein sounds right, so I don't understand what you don't understand !!

Protein is the chemical stuff inside the food, chicken and gammon are meats in which protein is a component.

    20 grams of fat ???????

U need to reconsider working out a proper macro nutrient ratio before u even start eating

And 54g protein sounds about right for a 200g piece cooked gammon

The weight of the steak does not equal the amount of protein. Protein is only once of many components that are in that steak.

Gammon is not 100% protein. A lot of the weight will be water, some of which will be lost when you cook it.

No, you should not. The 54g protein content you quoted is what you should be counting towards your 180g goal. You'd have to eat a lot of food to get 180g protein in one meal.

Yes. If that is the goal you are going with, you need to look at getting that much protein. There are so many different components to food, and in meat the primary weight is water (I think). That's why when you read food labels, you'll see a variety of things listed. When you buy milk, it's not *just* calcium, but a whole host of things, including protein.

no, "protein" is a component of the food you can only see on the label you can't weigh it.

200 grams of protein per day will come from 0.6 to 1.3 kg per day of meat. That's a **** load of meat,

Not sure why your fat macro is so low (20 grams)? But I have found that tuna steak (ahi) and swordfish are extremely low in calories and high in protein. They really help me meet my protein goals and remain under my calorie limit.

Yes . So according to research , 100g of cooked Gammon is 21% protein .
