Carbs provide the body with energy. Once you've eaten carbs, they break down into smaller sugars (glucose, fructose and galactose) that get absorbed and used as energy.

    So... have a cupcake! lol
Or really, anything with carbs. :)

Also make sure you get a good amount of protein and fats throughout the day.

Carbs provide a good pick-me-up. (bowl of oatmeal with mix-ins of your choice, a Clif bar, baked sweet potato with peanut butter, etc.)
Healthy fats like a spoonful of peanut butter or handful of nuts & dried fruit.
Also lately I have upped my protein a good bit, and that seems to give me more sustained energy throughout the day rather than quick spikes like carbs tend to.

Also, maybe consider starting to take a multivitamin that contains iron and B vitamins? I recently started taking one again, and I've noticed a difference in my energy levels. :)

Agree with the other posters -- carbs and vitamins B are two great ways to boost energy! In addition, try some green tea or tea with ginseng. Just be sure to drink lots of water, because some studies say caffeine has a dehydrating effect on the body. Another tea you can try is St. John's Wort. I've been drinking that stuff all my life due to my ethnicity, and it's been great for me! But of course, the number one thing you can do to boost your energy is eat some CARBS! Herbal teas are just an extra thing, if you choose to try 'em!!

Hope that helps! :))) Sorry you're feeling down on energy!

I guess I should add some actual foods since what I said before was drinks... ;) Looks like someone isn't paying attention lol.

Citrus (blood orange, orange, tangerine, lemon, lime, grapefruit) - the vit C boost can be very helpful, plus it's got a nice zing to wake you up!

Tropical fruits (pineapple, dragonfruit, starfruit, kiwi, papaya etc) - they contain a different mix of vitamins and minerals than the more typical fruit like strawberries, bananas, and apples so they can be just what the body needs.

Kefir - a great probiotic that you can find in low-fat and flavored versions. It's more refreshing than yogurt, in my opinion, and supports healthy digestion.

Or you could just eat.. more!

You have many days of netting between 1000-1400 calories (a couple 1700 days over a few weeks)..

When I was eating so little (1200), I was cold, exhausted and cranky. Things turned around when I bumped up my calories.

Get your iron checked, and if you are in a wintery climate (like me), add some B complex and D into your day. It helps me!

I didn't even look at her diary...OP, I agree. You aren't eating enough. Eat more. Food is fuel.
