Lentils/beans/seeds etc. with low cal and high protein?

I am looking for things to fill in for pasta, pretty much. I tend to fall behind on my protein, so I don't really want one of the main things on my plate to be low protein!

I just went to buy some quinoa for this purpose, but as it was insanely expensive ($15 for a bag the same size as the $1 pasta!), I ended up with some dried black beans, as I had an idea that they were high protein, lowish cal too (for some reason there were no nutrition info on the bags? Hence why I need to do my homework for next time!)

Preperation time or plain-ness is not a problem :)

I don't have any suggestions (I have trouble with protein, too), but quinoa might be cheaper to buy off of Amazon. I'm not 100% since I can get it at a good price at the Commissary, but $15 is ludicrous.
