Logging recipes with sauces

Sorry if this isn't the right place to put this, but I've got a question about logging recipes which have a lot of sauce with them.

I'm making stuffed cabbage tonight, and the cabbage is cooked in a tomato sauce. I'll drizzle a little sauce on the cabbage when it's served, but we're certainly not going to be eating all the sauce the recipe makes.

If I simply add up all the ingredients in the recipe, it comes out WAY over sugar due to the huge amount of tomato sauce. But since we're not eating all that sauce it's not really the amount of sugar that ends up in the finished meal.

Any suggestions for how to get a more realistic idea of the nutrition information for this recipe?

You can try estimating the amount of leftover sauce and subtracting that from the recipe, or just make it with less sauce to begin with, which is probably more accurate.

Thanks, I've always been similarly confused about marinades (which are mostly discarded before eating).
