activity level?

Options
Advice please....I can never decide what I should be set at .....I walk three miles a day at fairly brisk pace, then throughout the day can do up to two hours at slower pace.(sometimes more)
I'm on my feet a lot, pacing back and forth, and up and down stairs about thirty times a day.
Active or lightly active??

Light active and make adjustments as necessary...these calculators are only starting point, you will have to make your own adjustments as you go. Log any other deliberate exercise separately to account for that activity and get additional calories to eat.

Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)

Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman)

Which one sounds more like you? If you dont have that type of activities every day, then opt for the less active. and add on activities as you do them to get to your calorie deficit.

It's a tricky one, I'd say you need to pick a level for a month and see how it works out, then adjust if required.

Personally, I'm a Programme Director so while I'm office based I'm active. I also walk about 4-5 km per day to and from the office, and at weekends I walk quite a bit as well as the usual work at home. I'm set to lightly active as to me sedentary would imply a contact centre operator or such like, but I'm not actually doing anything manual that would justify tier three.

Why not put s health on your phone and log your calories on mfp? That should track your activity level best. 30 stairs are a LOT. I do 15 sets a day and thought that was a big deal.

Thanks I've always been set at lightly active, but just wondered if I should be more active..... although my body is used to it, is a fair amount of activity in a day.
