I have a serious sinus infection with what feels like the start of strep. Hubby finally went back to work yesterday after a six minth layoff so we have NO money for a doctor visit.
I need some damn relief! My face hurts from sinus pressure-i want to rip my molars out because my jaws hurt so bad. My tonsils are touching in my throat and my nose is running like crazy.
So far i have tried an ice pack, dayquil sinus, claritin, apple cider vinegar steam, gargling salt water, and peppermint tea with fresh mint from my garden.
Please tell me you have some tried snd true method to make sinus pain ease up a little.
I dir one of two cardio workouts and i swear im dead now.

have you irrigated? that's what i did when i had sinus infections. warm saline in a netti pot or (in my case) squirt it up there with a 'baby-booger-bulb' (the thing you use to suck boogers out of babies' noses). steam also, though i'd infuse mine with thyme (antibacterial). drink thyme tea also.0

You need to do a sinus rinse. You can buy it at the pharmacy but if you can't afford anything you can use a teapot or anything with a spout or a squeeze bottle with lid with a hole. Basically you fill it with warm water in which you mix equal parts baking soda and salt. (say 1/2 tsp total) Make sure it's dissolved well, then with your mouth open leaning over the sink, squeeze the liquid in one side of your nose and it will travel across your nose and come out the other side
It sounds weird, it looks gross but you can get rid of a sinus infection this way. Do it several times a day. I am sure there are videos on Youtube for a better visual
If you have honeycomb chew that and do swallow the wax. It helps clear sinuses
Also look up sinus massage and lymphatic drainage videos on youtube. You can massage your face to help drain the mucus
I suffer from Chronic Sinusitis so I am well versed in this stuff0 -
Thank you so much! At this point im willing to snort gravel if it will help0

You are very welcome and I hope you feel better soon. This is the video I have used it the past and it's really helpful

I agree with everyone on the sinus rinse/netti pot. It was my saving grace when I was pregnany and I usually ended up being able to kick sinus infections without antibiotics. Good luck and hope you get to feeling better.
Oh yeah, and don't forget to gargle with warm salt water. It's simple and it does actually work. Even though it makes me want to gag.0 -
The sinus thing can be helped with a sinus rinse, but if you have strep, you HAVE to go to the doctor. Untreated strep can turn into Scarlett Fever and in some cases, Rhumatic Fever. There is no over the counter or natural therapy for strep throat. You need to get on antibiotics ASAP. Do you have a county run health clinic nearby?0
