discrepancy in nutrition amounts

I was just inputting one of my regular recipes. If I input Aldi's sweet valley chickpeas the sodium is 3500. If I input Co op Chickpeas the sodium 1600. Both are just chickpeas in water with no added salt. So why is this? It makes a big deal if that is the real amount of sodium......
The Aldi tin says 0.02g of sodium per 100g and I use a 400g tin. So 0.08g. I don't have a co op tin in the cupboard right now.
Where do the amounts come from in the calculator?

Generally they are added by users. Check the can and go with what ever matches it. Some times people fat finger in things or otherwise enter things incorrectly.0

Do you know how an amount for 0.08 per 100g translates? I am not sure what the amounts on MFP mean ? I need 2,300 of sodium - that can't be grams!0

Sodium is usually measured in mg0

It can depend on what country the user is in - UK labels show the amount of salt, which is slightly different from the amount of sodium.0

I'll say - 58.5 / 23 or 2.54 times as much (same conversion as cm from inches).

All of the brand items are added by users. The majority of users know little about nutrition.
The MFP app has sodium in mg, the UK labels I've seen are all in g. Users don't seem to be able to figure that out, and it's weird how they don't even add the wrong amount by a factor of 10, 100 or 1000, it seems to be a random number?0 -

So 0.08 g (sodium) is 80mg of sodium - far from the amount shown!!!!!
And salt equivalent is 0.05g x 4 (400g tin) is 200mg - still far from the amount shown!!
I am very confused by MFP and my nutrition calculator!!!!
Thanks for all your advice, people0 -
You scan your item/look it up, then check it's right compared to the one on the label.
If someone has tried to do maths and work out the nutrition for some random portion that doesn't appear on the label, don't use that. Or, change the serving size to 1g, and type in 100 servings, then check with the label. 9 times out of 10 some has failed at maths.
Choose an alternative, correct entry if you can. If not, join us in correcting the database!
If people just copied the label, and let MFP do the calculations (that's what it's for!) by changing the serving size/number, this would all be a lot easier for everyone.0
