Hi, I'm a little disappointed this morning after only losing .5lbs in the first week of going low carb, I was expecting that big first week loss! I'm 5'7" and 175lbs eating around 1500 cals a day. Doing 45 min on my treadmill everyday at 3.5-4 mph and alternating upper body/abs and lower body/abs weight training (2 sets of 15 reps) my macros are set at 20% c/40%p/40%f) I'm drinking 2l of water everyday. Im having a really hard time eating all my cals I guess cause of the high fat and protein content. Wondering if anyone has any advice on my macros? I'm in it for the long haul, but just want to make sure I'm on the right track! Thanks all! Also will a few glasses of wine on the weekend stall my weight loss if it is in my calorie allowance? Thanks!!

.5/lb is great
Drinking wine, won't make you gain weight0 -
Drinking wine may not make you gain per say, but your body can't store alcohol, so it must metabolize it right away. When you drink alcohol, your body makes metabolizing it a priority over all other metabolic processes. Your body sends alcohol to the liver, which produces the enzymes necessary for the oxidation and metabolism of alcohol, and body won't metabolize sugars and fats as efficiently during the metabolism of alcohol.0

Drinking wine may not make you gain per say, but it will slow your metabolism as your liver will work to get the alcohol out of your system instead of excess fat.

sounds like you are doing everything right. Make sure you are doing measurements and not just putting all your focus on the scale. I also have a hard time eating all my calories especially if I get a workout in. Just remember a loss is a loss even if it's .5lbs WTG!!!0

interesting. I have a few beers a week. Have since I started.
doesn't seem to have hampered my loss at all.0 -
I've had alcohol almost every weekend since starting. I've lost consistently. Not saying that alcohol is ok... but it hasn't hurt me (yet...)0

Thanks for all of your input, I'm just going to try to keep it to a minimum, but I do love my glass(es) of vino on the weekend . Any input on the rest of my diet/workouts?0

I can go find twice as many links that say otherwise.
I have friends on my list that combined have lost THOUSANDS of pounds, and most them enjoyed their booze while doing it.0 -
