Jawbone v. Fitbit

Hi everyone,
I have a Jawbone Up. I've had it since Christmas. I've used it every day since then. I'm concerned that it's not tracking all of my movements. Saturday I took at least a 2 mile walk and my Jawbone Up only calculated 7500 steps ALL DAY. Today I went to the gym and worked on the elliptical for 30 minutes and the treadmill for 18 minutes. My Jawbone calculated less than 6000 steps for the whole day. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to recalibrate it? Please advise. Should I contact Jawbone and ask them about it or should I buy a Fitbit?

2 miles = 10,560 feet
The average stride is 2.5 - 3 feet so, at most, those 2 miles = 4224 steps
It's entirely possible that you only got 7,500 steps all day.0
